Description
Nationwide, buildings are responsible for almost 40 percent of U.S. carbon dioxide emissions. As communities look to meet their climate goals, both new and existing buildings are increasingly in focus. Policies on transparency, energy performance, and greenhouse gas reduction are gaining momentum across the country, with Maryland and Montgomery County on the forefront of these strategies.
Moderator Cliff Majersik, a pioneer of energy efficiency concepts in appraisal, lending, codes, and building performance policy nationwide, will share how these policies are making ground across the country.
Leaders from the Montgomery County Department of Environmental Protection, Montgomery County Department of Permitting Services, and Maryland Department of the Environment will then highlight and discuss the building energy policies taking shape in Montgomery County and across the state of Maryland.
