Day 1: Energy Benchmarking & Building Energy Performance Standards

9:30 am - noon: Benchmarking and BEPS Requirements Overview - Great Hall 

Emily Curley, DEP Building Performance Programs Manager, will brief the audience about requirements for energy benchmarking, which requires building owners to track and report annual energy data to the County by June 1st of each year, and forthcoming Building Energy Performance Standards.

10:00 am - 4:00 pm: Hands-on support from Subject Matter Experts

  • 10 am - noon - Colesville Room

  • 1 pm - 4 pm - Great Hall

Representatives from energy service companies will be available throughout the day to for hands-on benchmarking help. This hands-on support will help explain benchmarking basics, get you started with benchmarking in ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager, and connect you with energy professionals.

Benchmarking Subject Matter Experts

Subject matter experts include representatives from the following companies who have generously volunteered their time to help attendees get started with benchmarking.

 

When you register please be sure to indicate that you are interested in benchmarking support so that we may follow up and schedule you for a time slot.

What to Prepare

To best assist you, please bring as many of the following items as possible:

  • Building address / Montgomery County Building ID

  • Building gross floor area

  • Building gross floor area
    Property use types in the building and gross floor area of each

  • A summary of the fuels (electricity, gas, steam, etc) and number of meters serving your building

  • At least one recent energy bill for each account (if available)
